Where Is the PES File in My Embroidery Download
The PES file is inside the ZIP folder you downloaded. You have to unzip the folder before you can see it.
Most embroidery designs are delivered as a single ZIP file. A ZIP is a compressed folder that holds every format and size of the design together. Until you unzip it, your computer shows one file and your embroidery machine shows nothing at all.
To find your PES file:
- Find the ZIP file in your Downloads folder.
- Unzip it. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. On a Mac, double-click it.
- Open the new folder that appears.
- Look for the file ending in .pes (or any other embroidery format) in the size you need, such as 4x4 or 5x7.
- Copy only that file to your USB drive.
If you can't see file endings like .pes, your computer is hiding them. On Windows, open the folder, click View, and tick "File name extensions."
If you see several PES files, they are the same design in different sizes. Pick the one that matches your hoop.
