What Embroidery Format Does the Brother PE525 Use?

The Brother PE525 uses the PES embroidery format. Choose the file ending in .pes when you download a design for this machine.

The Brother PE525 is an embroidery-only machine with a maximum embroidery area of 4 x 4 inches (100 x 100 mm). A design must fit inside that area to load, so pick the 4x4 size. The 5x7 and 6x10 sizes are too large for this machine.

To use a design on the PE525:

  1. Unzip the download on your computer.
  2. Find the .pes file in the 4x4 size.
  3. Connect the machine to your computer with a USB cable. The machine appears on the computer as a removable drive.
  4. Copy the .pes file onto that drive.
  5. Select the design on the machine's screen.

The PE525 is an older model that loads designs through a USB connection to a computer. If the machine doesn't show up on your computer, check that it is switched on and that the cable is plugged into the machine's USB port.
