What Embroidery Format Does the Janome Memory Craft 500E Use?

The Janome Memory Craft 500E uses the JEF embroidery format. Choose the file ending in .jef when you download a design for this machine.

The Janome Memory Craft 500E is an embroidery-only machine with a maximum embroidery area of 7.9 x 11 inches (200 x 280 mm). Designs in 4x4, 5x7 and 6x10 sizes all fit.

To use a design on the Memory Craft 500E:

  1. Unzip the download on your computer.
  2. Find the .jef file in the 4x4, 5x7 or 6x10 size.
  3. Copy it to a USB flash drive.
  4. Plug the drive into the machine and select the design on the screen.

The Memory Craft 500E loads designs from a USB flash drive.

Janome machines look for designs in a specific folder on the USB drive. If your design doesn't appear, check your manual for where to place the file.
